While xTuple began as a manufacturing-oriented ERP system, we have been working for years to incorporate additional functionality for industrial and wholesale distributors. Features such as drop ship purchasing, advanced returns management, multi-warehouse control and sophisticated lot/serial tracking and tracing are all included in the xTuple Standard Edition. The Project Edition, of course, adds the ability to do financial reporting by project (or “job”). And now, we’re pleased to announce major new distribution functionality that we will be rolling out later this year.
The first of these new features supports the importing, and maintenance, of third-party OEM product catalogs. xTuple users will be able to manage huge catalogs of products that they *can* sell (but haven’t yet) – and when they need to actually sell the item, create a quote or sales order with the item, and bring it into the active item database. These external catalogs can be updated automatically from electronic feeds from the OEM, handled by our xTuple Connect integration product.
Future distribution functionality will include enhancements to pricing schedules, advanced rebate management, special pricing agreements (SPAs), better support for Lot Pricing and much more.
